About Me

Hillary Tolle Carter is a caregiver advocate, writer, speaker, and communications professional with more than two decades of experience spanning public relations,
nonprofit leadership, media, and patient advocacy. Her work helps individuals, organizations, and communities better understand the realities of caregiving while finding connection, hope, and purpose along the way.

A trusted “voice of the patient,” Hillary has contributed to more than sixty national and local media interviews, articles, educational videos, and events. She has advised
organizations including J.P. Morgan, DBV Technologies, Genentech, and members of Congress. As a Contributing Writer for WebMD, Hillary focused on empowering families facing the challenges of managing food allergies.

As host of Take Action! with Hillary Carter, a YouTube series produced in collaboration with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), Hillary interviewed leading physicians, executives, and advocates. A longtime nonprofit leader and fundraiser, she helped raise over $1 million for FARE during her tenure on its Board of Governors. Hillary currently serves on the Board of Directors for Latitude Food Allergy Care, supporting strategic growth and public engagement for the network of food allergy treatment clinics.

Before her advocacy work, Hillary built a career in corporate communications in New York City, including roles at MTV Networks, Maloney & Fox, DeVries Global, and Rubenstein Associates. She brings a seasoned media perspective to conversations around caregiving, navigating health crises, and the evolving demands placed on modern families.

Hillary earned a master’s degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News from the University of Alabama. Her work is grounded in real life and inspired by her most meaningful role—mom to two teenage boys—where the daily lessons of caregiving, resilience, independence, and family wellbeing continue to shape everything she shares.
